Lights off for Earth Hour This Evening

In cities that acknowledge Earth Hour, like Sydney, Australia, the night sky will be more visible for awhile. There was an effort to organize nights without streetlights and nights without electric lights for the happiness this would bring. This was called Candle Night. Somehow I want to listen on the radio across the Time Zones as though it were New Years Eve, in this perhaps I miss the meaning. When I studied Swedish they called it Levande Ljus, using candles not electricity during morning.
