Negative Shapes

I have added Negative Shapes to my list of poems on the blog. I read the poem at Point Defiance Park when a number of poets read during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the park.

The Lunar Eclipse

Someone mentioned the lunar eclipse - I went outside to see that the moon was coming back, it just looks rounder and a different color. I biked to a higher place years ago to look at the eclipse and biked back watching this different presence that made all the usual bike area seem changed.

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day the statues at Wright Park have had the Project Drop Cloths taken down. They are on new pedestals.

Hillary Clinton Rally at Fieldhouse

At the Dancing Maidens I sank into the mud at each step, but I kept going quickly and my shoes did not get swallowed. I was going to go to the rally at the U.P.S. Fieldhouse for Hillary Clinton - I had to turn around and put on different shoes. All these years I have been lucky to live close to the park so I could jog around like so many do. Twenty years about two blocks from the park so I was still in familiar space. I caught a different bus and waited an hour and a half in line. The Dancing Maidens are covered in see-through tarp because of the big project.

Focus the Nation

Focus the Nation mattered - I looked at web cams of the University of Washington but could not see any difference from any other day. According to the U of Washington Daily, the event they had was indoors at the Husky Union Building. Their web cams of the cherry trees in the quad are effective, and should happen this year soon.
